A local family’s history coming to CC Museum this Sunday

Preserving your family hertitage. You have done the genealogy research, now what? Kaylene Silvester will give a program at the Chase County Museum Sunday at 1:30 p.m. on this topic. Kaylene has been doing genealogy research since the early 1970’s. Her mother’s (Oneta Kimberling) family homesteaded southwest of Champion in 1887 and her father’s (Arthur Silvester) family moved to Chase County in 1920.
The genealogy presentation will include an overview of basic genealogy, but the main topic will cover what to do with everything you have collected, preserving your family heirlooms, and some hints as to what you can do to preserve your community heritage so it will be available for future generations. If you have some specific genealogy questions or artifacts that you would like to bring, Kaylene will try to help you with them.
The museums family files will be on display and available  Sunday Aug. 27, 1-4 p.m.
