Mike Trader Mid-America Basketball camps coming to area this summer

    Mike Trader has been affiliated with this camp since 1964. Trader’s coaching experience includes three years at Omaha Northwest, eight years as head basketball coach at Omaha Bryan, head coach at Hastings High and 16 years as head coach for Hastings College.
    Trader took Hastings College to the elite eight in the National Tournament during the 88-89 and 94-95 seasons, winning 27 games both years, setting a scool record for wins.
    Trader has been recognized as District or Conference Coach of the Year five times and was honored in 1988 as the Omaha World Herald’s State College Coach of the Year.
    In the 07-08 season, Coach Trader helped guide Hastings St. Cecelia to a State Championship and a record of 22-2.
    Trader’s first camp of the summer will be held in Ogallala at Prairie View from May 28-31. These camps are for boys and girls ages 7-18.
    The emphasis of the camps will be to improve skills and fundamentals along with the basic elements of basketball.
    The schedule will include league games and contests. All players will be divided into seperate leagues according to age.
    Coach Trader has assembled  some of the best and most enthusiastic coaches possible. Larry Ribble, Bill Graves and James Lowry will join many other experienced coaches in directing the camp.
    The second camp will be held in Sidney from June 3-6. To register for the camps, Trader has left brochures in most towns around the area.

    Check in for day camps are from 8:30-10:00 am on the first day. Camp will start at 9:00am and run until 4:00 pm all other days. Lunch is provided every day except the last day of camp. On the last day the awards ceremony will start at 11:30 am and camp will dismiss at noon.
