Girls second at Best of the Midwest track meet

    The Lady Longhorns finished three points behind McCook Tuesday, April 30. The 4x100 relay suffered a foul during the race causing them to be disqualified. The points that would have been scored in that race, most likely would have given the Longhorns the win.
    The 4x400 team of Peyton Owens, Lizbet Mireles, Hayley Rusher and Riley Rusher took first place with a time of 4:10.51.
    Miranda Spady, Landree McNair, Elizabeth Hanna and Ashlyn Heermann took first place in the 4x800 relay with a time of 10:22.66.
    Ella Colson finished fifth in the 100 and 200 meter sprint. R. Rusher placed third, running a personal best time of 26.82, in the 200 and H. Rusher eighth.
    In the 400, Emily Randall ran a personal best, 1:01.87 and finished third with L. Mireles right behind running her personal best time of 1:02.44 to finish in fourth.
    In the 800 meter dash, Spady placed fourth with a personal best 2:28.98 and Randall was seventh.
    L. McNair took seventh in the 1600 and Hanna, seventh in the 3200, running a personal best time of 13:35.08.
    Owens finished fifth in the 300 hurdles and eighth in the 100 hurdles.
    In the field events, Avery Beemer won the pole vault, clearing 10’ 1”. Karlie Anderson jumped a personal best in the high jump, clearing 5’ 1”, finishing in second.
    Peyton Owens took second in triple jump, going 34’ 4.25” and Randall went 30’ 11.75” to place eighth.
    Adelle Eskew took fifth in the long jump with a personal best leap of 15’ 8” and Kylee Wiest placed eighth in the discus with a throw of 99’ 6”.
