Chase County Jr. high quiz bowl wins at Curtis competition

Five Junior high teams from Chase County Schools competed in the Ag Quiz Bowl on Dec. 12, 2023 in Curtis with a questionnaire created by the Intro to Agriculture curriculum. Of the 65 teams that competed across the state, Chase County Schools took five of the top seven places. In first place, above, came the team of Sawyer Sauder, Aidan Vlasin, Maria Adle and Bennett Kuenning. In second place, top right, Gavin Hiekle, Aidan Tomky, Cadence Lambert and Tatum May. In fourth place, middle right, Luke Kuenning, Jackson Villerreal, Deitrich Pursley and Gavyn Maris. In sixth place, middle right, Hayden Worth, Violet Sparrow, Norah Weiss, Thomas Maddux and Max Bernard. Finally, in seventh place, bottom right, Alyssa Davis, Ethan Hanna, Zak Anderson,Damon Spady and Paige Owens. Their next competition will be held on Jan. 17, again on Feb. 27 and if they succeed in that, on to the Nebraska State FFA Convention in Lincoln on April 5.
