Waypoint Bank has new loan officer

    Payton Oliverius has joined Waypoint Bank in Imperial as its full-time loan officer.
    “Payton brings to Imperial a lifetime of agricultural knowledge, growing up on his family’s ranch, working with his parents’ and grandparents’ cattle herd and farming various row crops through the years,” said Harmaleigh Dubas, Waypoint Bank-Imperial branch manager.  
    “He is eager to learn all he can about Waypoint Bank and the ins and outs of the banking industry,” she said.
    While completing his degree, Oliverius spent three months training at Waypoint Bank’s home office in Cozad. He appreciated how willing everyone was to help him learn the different ways to complete loans, as well as how to use the bank’s different types of software.
    “I have used everything I learned in Cozad here at the Imperial branch when I have structured loans alongside Harmaleigh, including the many parts of a loan renewal for an operating loan,” Oliverius said.
    He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney in May, earning a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness. He graduated from high school at Bayard.
    “I decided to pursue a degree in agribusiness because I knew that I wanted to stay in agriculture in any way that I could,” he said.
    Oliverius said his family’s ranch is north of Bayard.
    “We run black Angus cow-calf pairs. I knew that learning the business side of agriculture is something that will help me out in the future as my ultimate goal is to be able to help my family grow our operation. I’d like to be involved in agriculture for my entire life, and eventually be able to buy some land as well as more cows of my own,” he said.
    “Payton’s history and education in agribusiness are just one more benefit for our customers,” Dubas said.
    “His interactions with customers and people of our community have been very welcoming and positive. We are proud to have him join the team at Waypoint Bank,” she said.
