Old Iron Antique Tractor group planning tractor drive

The Old Iron Antique and Vintage Tractor group held a meeting on Sunday, April 14 at the Lied Imperial Public Library. Member Leroy Grams said that the meeting was very well attended with over 30 people making their way from several towns in the area and some even making the trip across state lines. Grams said that they had people from Lakewood, Colorado, St. Francis, Kansas and Clinton, Nebraska in attendance. There were also many people from the area, as well.
There were pies and cinnamon rolls for refreshments. The group also gave out prizes of tractor themed metal signs, which were donated by 21st Century Equipment and Titan Machinery.
The Old Iron Antique and Vintage Tractor group is heavily reliant on volunteers to make their meetings and activities happen. At the meeting on Sunday, Grams said that Kristy Eskew and Christina Smith volunteered to serve refreshments and take down the minutes of the meeting. The group would also like to thank the Lied Imperial Public Library for providing a great space to hold their meetings.
Grams also mentioned that the group was recently given a tractor by a collector in Wallace. Anyone who has an old tractor they don’t want is more than welcome to donate it to the group—whether it runs or not. There has been interest by youth in the area that would like to learn to drive a tractor or to help fix one up.
Grams said that the group is planning a Tractor Drive on Saturday, May 4 that will start at the Imperial Sale Barn and make its way to Champion and then eventually to Cox’s Pond. They are planning on making a few stops including a stop to see a collection of Oliver Tractors. Group members Jason Speck and Kaden McArthur are planning this trek.
There will be another meeting of the Old Iron Antique and Vintage Tractor group on Sunday April 28 at 2 p.m. MT. This will again be held at the Lied Imperial Public Library. The group says that anyone and everyone interested in antique tractors are welcome.
