Hair Effects gets an exterior face lift

Hair Effects Salon at 526 Broadway in Imperial is getting a new look on the outside store front, store owner Deb Harmon said. I have been wanting it done for a couple of years now, she said. The outside front received some hail damage a while ago and along with the exterior walls we replaced the two big windows as well. Josh Geary is doing the project for her. The front face and windows will be a two week project. The facade is Veneer Rock. It is a durable man-made material with a backing I cut to form and it fastens to the wall with screws. The corners by the door are the hardest to fit. Up at the top of the storefront I will need to make a flash plate for diverting water when it rains, he said. I bought the store in 1989, and at that time it was a dry cleaners, Harmon said. The whole interior had to be gutted and replaced to make it what I wanted.
