Cybersecurity threat forces Adams Bank to lock down its servers

In the early hours of Tuesday, May 16, Adams Bank & Trust detected unusual activity indicative of a cybersecurity threat.
Saying the threat was taken extremely seriously, bank officials said to protect the bank’s customers and all of their personal financial information, they made the swift decision to lock down its bank servers. This allowed their IT department the time needed to address the issue.
Adams Bank & Trust immediately engaged a team of highly skilled experts to complete a forensic analysis and conduct an investigation into this matter.
At this point in the investigation, there has been no evidence that customer information was accessed, bank officials said in a release.
The release continued, “The bank’s team has worked tirelessly to restore online and mobile banking functions for customers since this began.”         On Monday this week, the bank announced its servers had been restored.
As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, their online and mobile banking systems became available. Customers can now access their current account balances and transaction information.
The bank’s officers continue to express sincere appreciation for the grace and understanding their customers have shown as they resolved this network disruption.
All questions and inquiries should be directed to the bank’s customer service representatives at 1-800-422-3488 or a local bank branch.
The threat included Adams Bank & Trust’s branch in Imperial, one of 11 of their branches in Nebraska. They also have banks in Colorado and Kansas.
