Barbara Ann Stanley

Barbara Ann Stanley, age 68, passed away peacefully on Nov. 24, 2023 at her home in Lamar, Nebraska. She was born on July 15, 1955 to Max and Vivan Kunkel.
Barbara was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a retired x-ray tech, having dedicated 35 years to helping others. Barbara had a passion for home decor and was known for her impeccable taste. She also loved to travel and explore new places, always planning the perfect itinerary to any all and family vacations. Although she loved to travel her heart was in South Texas where she loved to look over the beach and enjoy the sunsets. Barbara had a heart for animals and was a dedicated rescuer. She also enjoyed hosting parties and spending time sharing her love of celebrations with her grandchildren via tea parties in the kitchen.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Vivan Kunkel.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Stanley; daughter, Meredith Selzer and husband Brad Selzer; son, Tyler Stanley and wife Alyssa Stanley; brothers, Mike and his wife, Marilyn Kunkel, Jim and his wife, Deb Kunkel; five grandchildren, Lexi Stanley, Emma Stanley, Brooks Stanley, Ella Selzer and Luke Selzer; 20 nieces and nephews; her aunt and uncle Roy and Marlene Stafford; and aunt Gayle Stafford .
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Barbara’s life on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, Holyoke, Colorado with pastor Mike Brown officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Barbara Ann Stanley Memorial in Barbara’s memory for a designation to be determined later.
