Hill’s Family Foods takes time to celebrate building remodel

Staff at Hill’s Family Foods invites the community to come in and see all the store specials, taste ice cream  treats and enter for a chance to win multiple prizes during this week-long celebration of the store addition and remodel.
The building phase of the remodel began just after Thanksgiving 2019 and was completed in April  2020.
A “shell” was built over top of the existing building creating additional footage for a number of purposes.
The added footage includes additional back room storage space, an inside unloading lift for trucks to back up to unload in case of inclement weather and an entryway with space for the Traeger displays and seasonal displays, said store owner/manager Dirk Hill.
“We now have our bagged ice inside the new entryway so it can remain unlocked. That way, if I forget to unlock it, customers don’t have to find me to come open it,” he chuckled.
Hill said there is also additional space near the check-out area for promotional and more seasonal items.
There have been a number of additions and improvements over many months.
“We just added additional freezer space three weeks ago,” he said.
There are other projects inside being done—it’s never done when it comes to remolding, he added.
“I’m very proactive about making things better for our customers and the employees. I’m always updating and improving things to make an impact on customers,” Hill said.
“I’m constantly hearing positive comments from people about the changes,” he said.
“We are so blessed in this community to have the support for our businesses to grow and thrive and make things better,” said Hill.
The store will be offering samples for customers to try throughout the week.
In addition, there will be special treats from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, ice cream sundaes for $1.50; Thursday, root beer floats for $1 and Friday, banana splits for $1.50.
On Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a $1 lunch of a hot dog, can of pop and a bag of chips will be served in-store, Hill said.
Customers can enter to win a number of different prizes with the top prize being a two-minute shopping spree.
“Drawing for the prizes will be Saturday evening, and you don’t have to be present to win,” Hill said.
