Della was the fifth of six children born to William Eugene and Marie Berdnadine Priest. Her primary education was Wallace, Neb. They were blessed with three children, Andrea, Russell and Charles. In 1959 Della and her family moved to Denver, Colo. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Saint Joseph Hospital then changed careers working as a quality control inspector for Samsonite Luggage until retirement. Although she enjoyed all the big city had to offer, she remained a small town Nebraska girl.
Della always enjoyed cooking and loved preparing authentic Bohemian and Polish food. She also made professional wedding cakes that blessed many new couples. Della’s greatest enjoyment was vacationing at Enders Lake where she taught her children, nieces and nephews and friends how to water ski, camp, and just enjoy the simple things God made available.
