Debra (Ridlen) Palser - July 23, 2009
Debra Michelle (Ridlen) Palser was born Aug. 6, 1980, at Holyoke, Colo., to David M. and Pamela S. (Holien) Ridlen.
As a young girl Debra grew up in Enders, Neb., and attended both grade school and high school in Imperial.
Debra graduated from Chase County High School in 1999 and celebrated her 10-year reunion with the class in late May. While a student at Chase County High School, Debra was active in athletics and the dance team. She played volleyball, was on the cross country and track teams and was a cheerleader. She also served as a mat assistant for the Longhorn wrestling team.
She earned a degree in Art with an emphasis in two-dimensional art and a minor in marketing from Chadron State College in 2005. While at Chadron, she was also on the Chadron State Golden Eagle Dance Team.
Debra lived in Chadron a year or so after graduation, then moved to Fort Collins, Colo., then on to Windsor, Colo. While in Colorado, she was employed as an interior designer for Ethan Allen Company.
Debra married Troy Allen Palser on Aug. 5, 2006, at Enders Lake, Neb. The couple moved to Elsie in late 2008 after they lost their home in the tornadoes that hit Windsor in May, 2008. After moving to Elsie, Debra became a stay at home mommy.
Debra had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, bowling, camping at the lake, playing cards, crocheting, reading and running. She especially loved her dogs and eating.
Debra passed away Monday afternoon, July 13, 2009, in an auto accident near Elsie. She was 28 years of age.
Survivors include husband, Troy of Elsie; son, Gage at home; parents, Dave and Pam Ridlen of Enders; brother, David Ridlen and wife, Cheryl, of St. Joseph, Mo.; father and mother-in-law, James and Monica Palser of Ft. Collins, Colo., sister-in-law, Heather Jensen and husband, Matt, of Laramie, Wyo.; grandmothers, Hertha Holien of Enders, Deloris Ridlen of Hot Springs, S.D.; grandparents-in-law, Dr. Ronald Vernon and wife, Gabriella, of Julesburg, Colo.; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Greeting her in heaven are their angel babies; her brother, Dustin Marcus and grandfathers, Larry Holien and Paul Ridlen.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, July 18, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Imperial with Rev. Russ Armstrong officiating.
Pianist was Mr. Rob Browning and singers were Mrs. Jennifer Lucas, Mrs. Amy Schroeder and Mr. James Palser.
Casketbearers were Jon McNabb, Jeremy Smith, Marcus Holien, Buck Richards, Justin Palser and Kip Richards.
Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
A memorial has been established in Gage Palser’s name in memory of his mother. Memorials can be sent to the Commercial State Bank, P.O. Box 95, Elsie, Neb. 69134.
