Mary Kerchal - June 18, 2009


Mary Josephine (Antone) Kerchal was born March 11, 1914 on a farm in Hayes County, north of Palisade, Neb., the daughter of Josef and Antonia (Nejdl) Antone.
She grew up and attended rural school District #7 in Hayes County where she graduated from the eighth grade.
She made a profession of faith in Christ in the Congregational Church and she remained true to her faith in God.
She was a kind, caring and sensitive person who put the needs of her family and others ahead of her own.
She enjoyed her children and also her grandchildren and in the later years her great-grandchildren.
She worked as a nurse’s aide at Chase County Community Hospital for 22 years.
She departed this life on June 9, 2009.
Preceding her in death were her parents, an infant son and daughter, two sisters Agnes Spelts and Helen Sierra and three brothers James, Edward and William Jerik.
Survivors left to treasure her memory are sisters, Bess Kerchal of Ogallala, Neb. and Adeline Dixon of Cozad, Neb.; three children, daughter Janice and husband, Bill Jaeger, of Imperial, Neb., daughter Sharon and husband, Leland Maris, of Wauneta, Neb., and son Dallas Kerchal of Callahan, Colo.; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Inurnment memorial service will be held at the Wauneta Riverside Cemetery on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 10 a.m.
Everyone is welcome to a gathering of friends and family following the service.
