Dan Garrison - April 10, 2014
Danny Clay Garrison Sr. was born on Aug. 6, 1944, to John T. and Sally M. (Martin) Garrison in Greeley, Colo. Dan attended school as a young man in Denver, Colo., and worked for his father’s commercial painting company.
Dan married Dorene Mae Clay on Sept. 22, 1963, and to this union four children were born, Kevin, Curt, Debbie and Danny Jr.
Dan and Dorene settled in Englewood, Colo., where Dan continued working for his father’s company before making Imperial their home in 1979. Dan worked as a ranch hand for a short time before becoming employed at the Frenchman Valley Coop, retiring in 2004.
Dan’s passion was for fishing and hunting.
Dan passed away Thursday afternoon, April 3, 2014, at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial, Neb. He was 69 years of age.
Survivors include wife Dorene of Imperial; sons Kevin Garrison and wife Deb of Elkhorn, Neb. and Curt Garrison of Elkhorn, Neb.; seven grandchildren Rachel Garrison, Jordan Garrison, Sarah Fanning, Nicole Garrison, Tyler Andahl, Justin Garrison and Garret Andahl; brother John Garrison and wife Delores of Las Vegas, Nev.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill and Buddy Garrison; son Danny Jr.; daughter-in-law Petra; and daughter Deb Andahl.
Graveside services were held Monday morning, April 7 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, with Pastor David Kahle officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Rachel Garrison, Jordan Garrison, Sarah Fanning, Nicole Garrison, Tyler Andahl, Justin Garrison and Garret Andahl
A memorial has been established in Dan’s memory.
