Leaveta Bremer - August 01, 2013


Leaveta Genevive Bremer was born to Ulysses and Eva (Bernard) Lines on March 26, 1924 in Hiawatha, Neb. She attended school in Chase County and graduated from high school in 1942.
Leaveta married Donal Bremer at the Imperial United Methodist Church. The couple settled on the farm north of Imperial.
Leaveta or “Veats” as she was commonly known, worked at Adams Drug Store in Imperial for 38 years.
She also taught school for one year and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and Willing Workers. When not working or volunteering her time, Leaveta enjoyed gardening, baking, working in her yard and taking care of her flowers.
Leaveta passed away Sunday evening, July 21, 2013, at the Fountain Springs Health Care Center in Rapid City, S.D. She was 89 years of age.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donal in 1990; brothers, Lester, Virgil and Glen Lines; sisters-in-law, Arleen Kunnemann, Maxine Johnson, Wilda Lines, Irene Kunnemann and Delores Lines; brothers-in-law, Cleo Bremer and Frank Johnson.
Survivors include son, Jerry and wife, Jean Bremer of Rapid City, S.D.; brother, Leo and wife, Bethene Lines of Imper­ial; sister-in-law, Darlene Lines of Imperial; brother-in-law, Orville “Corky” Kunnemann of Imperial; and grandchildren, Holly and Corey Bremer.
Funeral services for Leaveta Bremer were held at 10 a.m. (MT), Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial with Pastor David Kahle officiating.
Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
A memorial has been established in Leaveta’s memory.
