Patricia Pearl Einspahr was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Imperial, Neb., to Ralph J. and Luella E. (Kliest) Duysen. As a young girl she grew up and attended school in Imperial.
Pat married Donald Warren Einspahr on Feb. 3, 1949, in Grant, Neb., and to this union two children were born: Donald E. and Linda K.
The couple first settled in Imperial, Neb.
Don entered the service during the Korean conflict and Pat then moved to Wauneta, Neb., and lived with Don’s parents. After his discharge the couple lived in the Denver area and back to Wauneta, before purchasing the Sage Motel in McCook, Neb. The Sage Motel and McCook have been their home since 1978.
Pat was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Culbertson and welcomed a Bible circle in her home for many years. She enjoyed sewing, reading and studying the Bible.
Pat was a very good cook and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to visit with friends and family. Pat will be truly missed.
Pat passed away at her home in McCook, on Thursday morning, May 16, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. She was 81 years of age.
Survivors include husband, Don of McCook, Neb.; son, Donald E. Einspahr and wife, Sonyha, of McCook, Neb.; daughter, Linda K. Einspahr of McCook, Neb.; four grandchildren, Erica Ruzicka and husband, Jay, of McCook, Neb., Courtney Einspahr of Cheyenne, Wyo., Cole Einspahr of McCook, Neb., Tayler Einspahr of McCook, Neb.; great-grandson, Aiden Einspahr-Ruzicka; brother, Clair Duysen of Imperial; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Terry of Nevada, Mo.; and brother, Bob Duysen of North Platte, Neb.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 20, 2013, 10:30 a.m. (CT) at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Culbertson, Neb., with Pastor Bradley Rick officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Connie Barger and soloist was Mrs. Angie Reiners.
Casketbearers were Cole Einspahr, Chris Einspahr, Mike Einspahr, Terry Einspahr, Todd Stevens, Jay Ruzicka and Dan Pinta.
Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, Neb.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
