Twila West - May 09, 2013


Twila Rose West, daughter of Norman E. and Viola F. Gray Bussard, was born, Feb. 4, 1934. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in her daughter’s home in Stoutland, Mo. at the age of 97.
She had a beautiful soul with a gentle spirit.
Twila was united in marriage to Jon D. West on Feb. 28, 1966. Together they shared a wonderful 47 years together.
Twila, a long-time resident of Climax Springs, Mo., was a homemaker and spent a number of years working at the Climax Springs Post Office.
She enjoyed collecting stamps, working on genealogy and family history; she had a large collection of salt and pepper shakers that she loved.
Twila was preceded in death by her parents, Norman E. and Viola F. Bussard; three brothers, George, Raymond and Teddy; three sisters, Norma, Wanda and Gloria; and a daughter, Merri Anne Lock.
Twila is survived by her husband, Jon West of the home; her daughter, Rose Yeager of Stoutland, Mo.; a son, Norman Lock and wife, Susan, of Eldon, Mo.; a sister, Bobbi Hankins of Colorado; five grandchildren, Tracy Lock of Stoutland, Mo., Keith Middleton of Lebanon, Mo. and Heather Calhoun, Karma Xavier and Scott Green all of Eldon, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Leighton Cooper and Isaac Cooper of Greenview, Mo. and Daylon and Skylar Calhoun of Eldon, Mo.; sisters-in-law, JoAnne Rowley of Imperial and Karen Weiss and husband, Bud, of Hastings; brother-in-law, Keith West, of Imperial; and dozens of nieces and nephews, family members and friends that will miss her terribly.
Funeral services for Twila West will be May 18, 2013 in McCook at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church.
