James Quint - December 13, 2012
James Quint, 80, of Sun City, Ariz., passed away Nov. 23, 2012.
Jim was born Dec. 17, 1931 in Hays, Kan. to S.P. and Margaret Quint.
He graduated from Dorrance High School in Dorrance, Kan. in 1949 and from Kansas State University in 1953.
Jim served two years in the Army.
On April 25, 1959 he married the former Mary Streck in Russell, Kan.
He then attended college at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan. where he received his teaching degree in math.
Jim went on to get his master’s degree in guidance and counseling in 1967. He was a teacher and guidance counselor at Chase County High School in Imperial, Neb., and Auburn Public Schools in Auburn, Neb.
He enjoyed golfing and was active in various clubs such as the Jaycees, Lions, Kiwanis and Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 53 years; children, Bruce Quint (deceased) and his wife Donna and their children Abby and Lily of Valparaiso, Ind., Chris Quint and partner Dean Yokotake of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Sid Quint and his wife Susan of Bellevue, Neb., and their children Ally, Scott and Mia; siblings, Mary Catherine Ross of Russell, Kan., Martin Quint of Pratt, Kan., Tom Quint of Greenville, Tenn., Margaret Ann Hahn of Bridgeton, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held in Russell, Kan. at a later date.
