Camilla Orvis - April 09, 2009

Camilla Celestine Pahl Orvis passed from this life on April 6, 2009 at her home in McCook, Neb.
Camilla was born June 27, 1918 to Mary and Arnold Pahl in Orafino, Neb. She graduated from Wilsonville High School.
Her marriage to Oliver Orvis Sept. 8, 1937 was a union that gave her four sons to raise. They were married nearly 35 years until Oliver’s death in 1972. Many of those years, she was a homemaker and worked in the Wilsonville Public School Cafeteria. In 1961, she began her career in Food Service at McCook Junior College until her retirement in 1990.
Dec. 22, 1974, she married Lawrence Orvis. To this union four more children joined her family.
Traveling was a special joy to both Camilla and Lawrence. They enjoyed many road trips, bus excursions and travel by air and cruise ship.
While Camilla’s sons were in school, her love of athletics became more than just a past-time. Planning around football, basketball and track schedules was part of who she was. She was her sons’ number one fan! She was also a huge Husker fan.
