?Kathy Mae Hamilton was born Oct. 30, 1959, to James M. and Pearl J. (Hicks) Andrew.
?As a young girl she moved with her family to Palisade, Neb., where she grew up and attended school. Kathy graduated from Palisade High School in 1978, and went on to attend Kearney State College.
?Kathy married Doug Hamilton on July 23, 1983, at the United Methodist Church in Wauneta, Neb., and to this union three children where born: Toby, Jeffrey and Kayla.
?The couple settled and made their home in Wauneta until moving to Alliance, Neb., in 1998. Kathy worked at Trinidad Bean Company and First State Bank in Imperial, Neb., and after moving to Alliance she was employed by the Box Butte Treasurer’s office.
?Kathy had many hobbies including reading and following Husker Football. She loved her time with family, especially grandson, Mason.
?Kathy passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the Box Butte General Hospital, Alliance, Neb. She was 52 years of age.
?Kathy was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Edwards and sister, Rose Christner.
?Survivors include parents, Jim and Pearl Andrew of Palisade, Neb.; husband, Doug Hamilton of Alliance, Neb.; sons, Toby Hamilton and Tracey Abell, of Alliance, Neb. and Jeffrey Hamilton and Heather Cox, of Alliance, Neb.; daughter, Kayla Hamilton, of Lincoln, Neb.; grandson, Mason Hamilton, of Alliance, Neb.; brothers, Boyd Andrew and wife, Jacki, of Lincoln, Neb., Charley Andrew and wife, Deb, of Wauneta, Neb.; sister, Sharon Miller and husband, Tom, of Wauneta, Neb.; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Clara Hamilton, of Wauneta, Neb.; brother-in-law, Dave Hamilton, of Wauneta, Neb.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, March 19, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Wauneta with Pastor Bonnie McCord officiating.
Casketbearers were Travis Miller, Michael Andrew, Jason Hicks, Bobby Miller, Brett Lauder, Chet Whaley, Justin Hamilton and Matt Burke.
Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
?A memorial has been established in Kathy’s memory.
