Jess Goddard - January 05, 2012
Jess Paul Goddard was born June 9, 1916, at St. Joseph, Mo. to Harry Albert and Iva Belle (Yost) Goddard. He married Marjorie Elane Claus on May 10, 1946. The couple lived in Imperial all their married lives. To this union were born two sons, Greggory and Kent.
Jess served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He farmed around the Imperial area for many years. Later in life he opened an auto repair shop, known as Jess’s repair.
His sense of humor and ability to make people laugh will be missed by all.
Jess passed away Friday afternoon, Dec. 23, 2011, at the Regent Park Nursing Home, Holyoke, Colo. He was 95 years of age.
Survivors include: son, Gregg Goddard and wife, Darlene, of Omaha, Neb.; son, Kent Goddard of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren, Garry Goddard and wife, Stacy, of Olathe, Kan., Teena Kesler, of Lincoln, Neb.; one step-granddaughter, Kendra Hill and husband, Dan, of Omaha, Neb.; four great grandchildren, Jessica and Creighton Goddard of Olathe, Kan., Alyssa and Issac Kesler of Lincoln, Neb.; three step great-grandchildren, Adam, Joel and Arron Hill of Omaha, Neb.
Graveside inurnment services will be announced at a later date. No visitation, Jess chose cremation.
A memorial has been established to the Imperial Senior Center.
