Viola Louise Bischoff - September 30, 2010
Viola “VI” Louise (Milner) Bischoff, was born July 20, 1936, in Haxtun, Colo., to Lawrence “Pate” and Irene (Roberts) Milner.
She attended Prairie Gem Grade School, Chase County High School in Imperial, Neb. and Doane College in Crete, Neb.
During her high school years, Vi worked at Einspahr Drug Store in Imperial, where she met Dale Bischoff.
Dale and Vi were united in marriage Aug. 7, 1956 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, of rural Wauneta, Neb. Due to Dale’s military service they resided in Seaside, Calif. and Chinon, France during their first years of marriage.
In 1958, Dale and Vi returned to Wauneta, where Vi was an accountant and an active member in the community.
Vi passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, in Seward, Neb. She was 74 years of age.
Vi is survived by her husband, Dale, of Wauneta; daughter, Nancy Thalken, and husband, Ladean, of Lincoln, Neb.; son, Bill Bischoff, and wife, Rhonda, of Wauneta, Neb.; daughter, Bev Kahler, and husband, Bryan, of Lincoln, Neb.; four grandchildren, Shanna Stefkovich, Kassie Austin, Jenae and Logan Bischoff; four great grandchildren, Keiren Stefkovich, Riley Stefkovich, Reese Stefkovich and Alivia Austin; brother, Dean Milner, and wife, Dorothy, of Imperial, Neb.; sister, Virginia Ridlen, and husband, Carl, of Fairview, Tenn.; brother, Delmer Milner, and wife, Wilma, of Champion, Neb.; brother, Leonard Milner and wife, Effie, of San Jose, Calif.; other family members include several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Vi was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles and Ron Milner.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, Sept. 28, 2010, 10:30 a.m. (MT) at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta, with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Berneta Steinert.
Casketbearers were Rayburn Bischoff, Logan Bischoff, Bob Milner, Charles Milner, Jerry Milner and Owen Madden.
Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
A memorial has been established in Vi’s memory.
Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta was in charge of arrangements.
