Jennie Wheeler - September 09, 2010

Jennie Alwilda “Jean” Furrow Wheeler was born Nov. 22, 1932, to Joseph Franklin and Rose Lillie "Lillian" Swayze Huckobey in Wauneta, Chase, Neb., she was adopted by Rosa Amy Powell Furrow at age three.
Wheeler grew up in and around Imperial and attended Imperial schools.
She passed away Aug. 11, 2010, in Wichita Falls, Texas at age 77. She was, in addition to being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, a retired seamstress and a certified nurse aide.
She married William David Felton, Feb. 9, 1949, in Lincoln, Neb. To that union was born one child, Judy Darlene. They divorced in 1951.
She married Jackie Charles Wheeler, Oct. 20, 1952, in Yuma, Ariz. To that union two children were born, Jo Ann and Jackie Jr. They divorced in 1990.
She was preceded in death by parents, Orville Hamilton and Rosa Powell Furrow, Imperial; biological parents; brother-in-law and sister, Glen Willard and Lila Monrose Huckobey Peters of Lincoln, Neb.; brother-in-law, Luther Hartford Sloan of Houston, Texas; second husband, Jackie Charles Wheeler of Vernon, Texas; first husband, William David Felton of Salem, Ore.; and six younger half brothers on the Huckobey side.
Survivors are sons-in-law and daughters Robert and Judy Wheeler Owen, Preston, Idaho; Tom and Jo Ann Wheeler Wilson, Vernon, Texas; and son and daughter-in-law, Jackie Charles, Jr. and Sheri Donovan Wheeler, Wickenburg, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Jud and Wendi Sisk Stringer of Cedar Park, Texas; Thomas Wilson of Lubbock, Texas; Dennis and Kristy Marble Wheeler of Buckeye, Ariz.; John Wilson of Connecticut; and Jentry Wheeler of Prescott Valley, Ariz. Additionally she has seven great grandchildren, Karoline, Madalin and Rhett Stringer; Robert Wilson; Gavin, Jane and Grace Wheeler. Also left to mourn are her sister, Julia Bloom Sloan of Houston, Texas and her two adored cats, Mz. Kat and Angel of Vernon, Texas.
Graveside services were held Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 at Eastview Cemetery, Vernon, Texas. Arrangements were by Sullivan Funeral Home, Vernon, Texas.
