Sammy E. Doyle - May 27, 2010
Sammy E. Doyle, formerly of Wauneta, Neb., now of Hico, Texas, passed away May 14, 2010, at the Hamilton General Hospital, Hamilton, Texas, after a long illness.
He was laid to rest May 18, 2010, at the Black Family Cemetery under the direction of Rutledge Funeral Home in Hico, Texas.
Pastors Marcy Grun of Ovalo, Texas, Werth Mayes and Jerry Jones of Stephenville, Texas, officiated.
Sam E. Doyle served in the Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Karen Kay Fanning; two sons, Mike Hopp, and Sammy Doyle, Jr. all of Hico; a sister, Jackie Milliorn of Abilene, Texas; 16 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
?He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Elm.
?Sam loved spending time with his family.
?Sam loved working with his hands. He and his daughter, Karen Kay, worked together making furniture and enjoyed gardening together.
?He loved to paint, working with wood and using his hands to create things.
Memorials in Sam’s memory may be given to the Cowboy Church of Erath County in Stephenville, Texas.
