Chris Dreiling - January 14, 2010


Christian Leonard Dreiling was born March 25, 1923, at St. Peter, Kan., to Daniel and Anna (Powers) Dreiling.
As a young man, Chris attended grade school, and on Feb. 4, 1948, he married Mary Stadler in Fredrick, Colo. The couple settled in Englewood, Colo., where Chris was employed as a greenhouse manager. He later was also employed as a custodian at the Cherry Lynn School in Englewood, Colo.
Chris and Mary moved to Imperial, Neb., in August of 1981, and Chris gained employment at Chase County Schools as a custodian. Imperial became their home where they both retired.
Chris passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 4, 2010, at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial. He was 86 years of age.
Chris was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Imper­ial, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include wife, Mary of Imperial, Neb.; son, Mike Dreiling and wife, Cheryl, of Champion, Neb.; daughter, Roseanne Koenig, of Golden, Colo.; son, Raymond Dreiling and wife, Karen, of Quitman, Texas; son, Paul Dreiling of Lubbock, Texas; son, Carl Dreiling and wife, Marie, of Ft. Lupton, Colo.; daughter, Rita Jones and husband, Tim, of Quitman, Texas; daughter, Mary Beth Harding and husband, Ron, of Holyoke, Colo.; 20 grandchildren, Duane, Rick, Dawn, Lynn, Lisa, Lana, Laci, Anthony, Jacque, Heath, Julie, Chris, Craig, Jennifer, Cari, Toni, Heather, Kenny, Cody, Tamara; 26 great-grandchildren, Holden, Dylan, Michael, Laura, Megan, Shelby, KaraJo, Fenton, Isabelle, Bryce, Taylor, Andrew, Jaxson, Brandon, Dakota, Andrew, Cortlyn, Kalei, Ethan James, Vincent, Samantha, Ethan Wayne, Ashlyn, Nevaeh, Marih, Julie, Stacy; brothers, Ben Dreiling and wife, Alice, of Denver, Colo., Herb Dreiling, and wife, Ruby, of Denver, Colo., Gilbert Dreiling, and wife, Carol, of Littleton, Colo.; sisters, Matilda Kimbal of Loveland, Colo., Dorothy Prado of Englewood, Colo., Regina Hayes of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Anna; two brothers, Dominick and Albert; two daughters-in-law, Jeannie and Linda.
A Rosary was recited on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, 10 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Imperial, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the same location, with Father Bernard Lorenz celebrating.
Organist was Mrs. Marcy Nesbitt and soloist was Mr. Ron Moritz.
Casketbearers were Duane Dreiling, Rick Dreiling, Tim Goddard, Craig Dreiling, Heath Dreiling, Tony Dreiling, Chris Dreiling, Kenny Jones and Cody Carmin.
Interment was held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
A memorial has been established to St. Patrick’s New Parish Hall Fund.
Liewer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
