Stanley Leonard ‘Mike’ Long - December 24, 2009

?Stanley Leonard “Mike” Long, 80, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born Oct. 9, 1929 at the family farm north of Palisade to James and Lucille (Towell) Long.
?He spent his life farming and ranching on the farm south of Wauneta.
?When he was younger he enjoyed hunting as a hobby. Visiting with friends was something he always enjoyed.
?Preceding Stanley in death were his parents; three brothers, Charles, Wendell and Maurice; and one sister, Gladyce Long.
?Survivors include three sisters, Shirley Thacker of Torrence, Calif., Glenda Milby and husband, Donald, of Hesston, Kan. and Janet Solis and husband, Polo, of Mexico City, Mexico; sisters-in-law, Violet Long of Wauneta and Betty Long of Manhatten Beach, Calif.; nephew, James Long and wife, Annette; and niece, Linda Leitner and husband, Dennis; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Wauneta, Neb. with Rev. Dennis Leitner officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Elaine Roschewski.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Doetker, Kent Doetker, Marvin Gardner and Virgil Doetker.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Liewer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
