Margareet Ruiz Lovato - December 17, 2009

Margareet Ruiz Lovato was born June 28, 1942, in Scottsbluff, Neb., the youngest daughter of Luiz Sr. and Francisca (Cervantez) Ruiz.
She grew up in LaGrange, Wyo., and received her education there. Her memories of the farm where she grew up were vital to her dreams during her last hours.
Margareet married Luis Delgado Valdez in Merced, Calif. To this union three children were born: Luis, Felipe and Francisca.
In 1974, Margareet married Clyde Lovato in Scottsbluff, Neb., and to this union one daughter, Angelina, was born.
Margareet enjoyed cooking, bible study, card club and spending time with her family. Her love was quilting—she belonged to a quilting club and was starting a mission to prepare homemade prayer quilts to those in need.
Margareet also loved following her grandchildren’s sports. She was a Chase County Longhorn fan. Margareet was a member of Crossroads Wesleyan Church.
Margareet passed away Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 9 at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial. She was 67 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Luiz, Tony, Alfred and Joe; and one sister: Guadalupe Ruiz.
Survivors include ex-husband, Clyde Lovato of Imperial, Neb.; son, Luis Valdez and wife, Maria, of Medford, Ore.; son, Felipe Valdez of Grand Junction, Colo.; daughter, Francisca Morales and husband, Will, of Imperial, Neb.; daughter, Angelina Stewart and husband, Andrew, of Wichita, Kan.; 11 grandchildren, Paul, Gina, Vanessa, Anna, Braulio, Felipe, Michael, William, Daniel, Jaclyn, and Aaliyah; one great-granddaughter, Samara; three sisters, Esther Rosas and husband, Alfred, of Puyallup, Wash., Elvita Delgado and husband, Joe, of Washington, and Elisa Prado of Las Cruces, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Doris Ruiz of LaGrange, Wyo.; and nephew, Gerald Ruiz of Scottsbluff, Neb.
Memorial services for Margareet Lovato were held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 12, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Wesleyan Church, Imperial, with Pastor Todd Burpo, Rev. Ruby Long and Rev. Matt DuPeire officiating.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Margareet’s memory.
Liewer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
