Glenda E. Stinnette Rousey, 88 of North Platte, passed away Nov. 30, 2009 at the Sutherland Care Center.
She was born Oct. 14, 1921 in Imperial, Neb. to Jesse J. and Laura Brabham Stinnette and came from a family of 11 brothers and sisters.
She graduated from Imperial High School. After graduation she taught at a country school near Wauneta until marrying Martin LeRoy Rousey on April 28, 1945. After marriage the couple farmed south of Elsie.
In 1950 they moved to a farm and dairy southeast of North Platte.
From 1955 until 1957 they lived in Aurora, Colo. where Martin was head of the city parks department.
They returned to the farm and dairy southeast of North Platte where they remained until 1971. They then moved to the valley west of North Platte and started Rousey Dairy Farm. Glenda remained at the dairy farm for the remainder of her life.
She enjoyed sewing, music and country living.
Glenda was born to be a farm girl. She was typically in the barn eight hours a day. At the dairy she milked cows, raised chickens and rabbits, worked in the garden, cared for her flowers, canned, chased two boys and kept grandpa on the straight.
