Peewees participate in all-star game

Several players from each traveling Peewee team in Imperial participated in the league’s all-star game played Tuesday, July 28 at Paxton.
Players selected from Imperial 1 included Kale Gockley, Ryan Moline, Kelton Fisher. Tyler Oxford, Trey Milner, Dan Sullivan and Justus Wallin represented Imperial 2.
Coaches Bob Milner, Jeff Wallin and Dave Oxford served as coaches for one of the teams. John Corfield of Paxton coached the other team.
Players from Paxton, Ogallala Black and Wallace joined members of Imperial 1 on one team.
Imperial 2 players were joined by Hershey, Sutherland and Ogallala Orange.
The team coached by Imperial’s coaches won the game 9-5.
Oxford, Milner and Sullivan each pitched for their all-star team.
Oxford went two innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit.
Milner went one inning, gave up no hits and struck out one against two walks.
Sullivan pitched another inning for the team. He struck out two, gave up two hits and two runs.
At the plate, Milner went 2-2 plus a walk and scored twice.
Oxford was 0-1 plus two walks and also scored twice.
Sullivan went 1-3 and Wallin was 0-2.
For the other team, Gockley pitched two innings. He gave up two walks and two runs with five of the six outs coming on strike-outs.
At the plate, Gockley was 0-1 with a walk.
Moline and Fisher each went 1-2 and each scored a run.
