Moline leads hitters, Strand leads pitchers

This year’s 16-and-under baseball team completed a successful season this month, finishing with a record of 15-3.
Of their losses, two came at the hands of McCook and one to Ogallala.

At the plate, four players finished with batting averages over .400, led by Adam Moline who hit .489.
He also led the team in on-base percentage (OBP) at .613 aided by 23 hits and 15 walks.
Alex Strand hit .455 with an OBP of .609. Jeff Banks finished with a .421 average and a .593 OBP while Kale Gockley went an even .400 with an OBP of .595.
Banks finished with 16 hits on the year with Strand and Shane German each finishing with 15 hits.
Banks led the team in drawing walks with 16, followed by Moline with 15, German 14 and Strand 13.
German only struck out once in 38 appearances at the plate, followed by Moline who went down just twice in 47 at bats.
Strand leads pitchers
Strand led the pitchers with six wins in six starts. In the final game of the season, he threw a no-hitter against Grant and was just one walk away from throwing a perfect game.
German was undefeated in four starts and got a save. Spady won four games and gave up three losses in addition to picking up a save. Moline won the only game he pitched.
