Two officers from the Chase County Sheriff’s Office left Wednesday for Hartville, Mo., where they were scheduled to pick up two men on Chase County warrants.
Sheriff Tim Sutherland and Deputy Vince Lopez will be picking up Thomas Barnes and Wesley Morgan, both listed on felony warrants from Chase County, said Deputy Bill Whitlow.
Barnes, whose last known address was Wauneta, is wanted for failure to appear in Chase County Court on drug-related charges, Whitlow said.
Morgan, who was living in Hartville, is listed on the Chase County warrant on a six-year-old burglary charge relating to a break-in and theft at the former Rhino’s in Champion.
Sutherland and Lopez are expected back to Imperial with the prisoners on Friday, Whitlow said.
Once returned here, Barnes and Morgan will be held in the Chase County Jail until their hearings, which are not yet scheduled.
The sheriff’s department in Hartville was holding them until Chase County’s officers arrived.
