The FoodBank for the Heartland, a mobile food pantry that landed in Imperial last Saturday, helped a lot of families.
That’s according to Matthew Musgrove of First Bank & Trust Company, which helped with the distribution of food.
Musgrove said 60 families, almost all of Chase County, were served. Three families were from Red Willow County and three from Hitchcock County.
“We look for the local impact” in the bank’s charitable activities, Musgrove noted. “They walked away with enough food to feed their families for a week.”
Musgrove said 183 individuals were included in the total helped.
The FoodBank for the Heartland will be in Imperial on a quarterly basis. First Bank & Trust will  help with the next distribution, scheduled for this spring.
“It turned out very, very well,” Musgrove noted. “There was hardly any food left.”
