Alone this Christmas? The Southwest Nebraska Ministerial Association is again sponsoring a free Christmas Dinner from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Dec. 25 at the Imperial Eagles Club.
Kate Davis, who is coordinating the meal this year, said anyone staying home this Christmas or looking for someplace to share a traditional holiday meal is urged to attend.
Volunteers will be serving turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, dressing, salads, rolls, pies and beverages.
Davis said between 30 and 40 volunteers are needed to staff the event by putting the food together, serving and cleaning up. She said that some regular volunteers won’t be available this year because they’ll be out of town.
Anyone wanting to volunteer may call Davis at 883-0304, Jody Bopp at 882-4406, Pastor David Kahle at 883-5655 or Father  Bernard Lorenz at 414-1195.
Those attending will be given a gift bag containing an apple, an orange and a quart of unpopped popcorn, Davis noted.
There is no charge for the meal.
