Stephen Frausto, 41, convicted in July in Chase County District Court, was sentenced 75 to 90 years in the Nebraska State Pen on three counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of child abuse.
The sentence was issued by Judge David Urbom of McCook at a sentencing hearing Oct. 27 in Imperial.
The case resulted from incidents involving a minor child in Imperial in 2008. Frausto lived in the area a short time between 2007-08. The three sexual assaults occurred over a six-month period.
Judge Urbom ruled that Frausto serve each of the sexual assault of a child counts consecutively. Each of those felonies carries a 25 to 30 year sentence. The child abuse charge will be served concurrent with the count one sexual assault sentence.
Frausto was also ordered to register as a sex offender. He was represented by attorney Alan N. Jensen.
Bill Tangeman, one of the two attorneys from the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office who prosecuted the case, said Frausto has been transferred from the Chase County Jail to the state pen in Lincoln.
