Letters will be sent out this week concerning the Chase County Fair Parade, to be held Aug. 15. The letters, to be sent to organizations, churches, businesses and others, will include an entry form, according to Chairman Kris Musick.
At a later date, entry forms will also be included in this newspaper.
The theme of this year’s parade is “Chase County—Our Own Little Oasis.” The grand marshalls will be the Raymond Maxfield family, owners of the Wauneta Roller Mills.
The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. from in front of Imperial Manor. It will progress east on 10th Street, turning south onto Broadway Street, and ending at the south end of that street.
A number of categories will be voted upon by judges, with ribbons and prizes awarded. Classes include business, organization, equestrian, religious and open. An overall grand prize winner will also be chosen.
