Skills, etiquette taught at golf camp PDF Print E-mail

Forty-five youth ages 5-13 took part in the second annual Imperial Country Club golf camp last week.
They practiced putting, chipping and driving Aug. 4-6 and then participated in a tournament Aug. 7.
The purpose of the camp, according to coordinator Mary Wilson, was to “teach golf etiquette and the little things, like fixing divots, taking good care of the putting green, how to count strokes” and not playing in front of another golfer.
Instructing at the camp were Allyson Pryor, Ben Heskett and Wilson.
Volunteers during the tournament were Terry Yost, Amy Leibbrandt, Vanessa Terryberry, Merril Humphreys, Amber Russell and Angie Paisley.
