Entries continue to come in each day for Saturday’s big Chase County Fair Parade in downtown Imperial.
Organized by the Imperial Chamber of Commerce, committee member Jana Pribbeno said more than 40 entries were already in by Tuesday morning. The business/professional division leads the other four parade divisions in number of entries, she noted.
The only politician that has registered so far in this non-election year, Pribbeno said, is State Sen. Dan Hughes of Venango.
Set to start at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Imperial Manor at 9th and Grant Sts., the parade will travel east on 10th St., turn south on Broadway continuing until 3rd St. A review stand between 5th and 6th Sts., will announce each entry as it passes.
Besides business, other divisions include organizations, religious, equestrian and open class. See the attached map to determine where each group lines up.
Lineup starts at 8:30 a.m. and those entries that want to be judged should be in place by 9 a.m. in their designated areas.
Pribbeno said the parade will be led by the Chase County Sheriff’s Dept., whose siren will signal the start. They will be followed by the VFW Color Guard, Chase County Schools Band and Grand Marshals, the Maddux Family of Wauneta and Imperial.
Pribbeno encourages all businesses and groups planning to have a parade entry to submit a registration form by Friday at 12 noon to the Imperial Republican office, or contact her at 308-883-0452.
Parade committee members appreciate having entries pre-registered so they can anticipate numbers, she said.
