Imperial’s 16-and-under team continues winning streak PDF Print E-mail

    Imperial’s 16-and-under baseball team remains undefeated with wins over Benkelman,  Wauneta, McCook and Grant last week.
    On June 17 at Benkelman, Imperial gave up just one run in a 19-1 win that ended after four innings.
    Jeff Banks led the team at the plate, going 2-2, while Alex Strand went all the way on the mound, collecting seven strike-outs.
    On Sunday, the team took both games in a round robin played at Wauneta.
    They defeated Wauneta 14-4 in a game that ended after four innings.
    At the plate, Charlie Haarberg was 2-2, Adam Moline went 2-3  and Banks was 2-4.
    Alec Spady went the distance on the mound for the win, collecting four strike-outs.
    In the second game, Imperial defeated McCook 13-5.
    Strand and Haarberg were 2-2 at the plate followed by Jake Burke, who went 2-3. Strand also went the distance on the mound.
    On Monday, Imperial defeated Grant by a 10-run margin, 17-7.
    Cody Cravey led the team with a 2-3 effort at the plate, followed by Strand with a  2-4 effort.
    Shane German got the win on the mound, striking out five.
    The team now stands at 11-0.
