Volunteer chairman still looking for help next week PDF Print E-mail

Filling next week’s SCORE science camps in and around Imperial with volunteers is a major undertaking.
That’s especially true this year, with attendance records easily broken with about 350 youths registered for the grade 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 sessions.
Lynn Luhrs serves as volunteer chairman, and said she has 420 time slots to fill with volunteers all next week.
As of Monday this week, she had a little more than half of the slots filled, so she’s looking for other volunteers to jump in and help.
Both adults and teens are encouraged to volunteer, she said.
Adults will help out at the camps as group leaders, who are charged with keeping track of individual groups as they move from session to session.
Young adults and teens who volunteer will be assisting the camp scientists and presenters, Luhrs noted.
Luhrs said she will take volunteers for as much time as they can give. That can mean just half a day, full days or all week long.
Anyone who might be able to volunteer time next week at SCORE can contact Luhrs at 882-3907 (home), 883-3907 (cell) or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
