Grandson of Schilkes selected for People to People program

Blaine Teeter of Culbertson, grandson of Dave and Candy Schilke of Imperial, has been selected for the People to People Student Ambassador program.
Teeter, who will be a junior at Hitchcock County Schools, will spend 18 days in Europe and visit four different countries.
The student ambassador program provides international educational travel programs to students.
The program features unique activities for building independence and maturity, exclusive cultural moments to increase global awareness and exciting destinations to foster a love for international travel and foreign cultures.
People to People was founded by President Dwight D. Einsenhower with the vision of people from different nations working together to solve problems and promote peace.
Teeter is the son of Jess and John Teeter.
Golf tournament planned
To help defray expenses for his trip, a golf benefit will be held on Sunday, April 12, at Enders Lake Golf Course with a two-person scramble beginning at 12 noon.
