Ninety registered for first annual MS race PDF Print E-mail

The weather was perfect and so was the turnout for Saturday’s first annual 5K Race to Finish MS, an event organized by Emily Vogt of Imperial. Ninety runners and walkers were registered participants, which helped raise an estimated $3,400 that Vogt will forward to the National MS Society, Mid-America Chapter. First runners across the finish line were Alicia Fries and Erica Pirog, below left, who were both recorded with 24:05 times. Not far behind was the overall male winner, Bill Christensen, center, who finished with a time of 24:20. At right is Emily Vogt, who gives direction on the 5K route before the start is given. A full wrap-up including all of the top place-winners’ times will be printed in next week’s issue. (Republican photos)
