|Let’s put our best foot forward this weekend|
By Russ Pankonin, The Imperial Republican Co-Publisher
Saturday promises to be be a busy day in Imperial. The day starts off with city-wide garage sales. In the morning, hundreds of youth will converge on the fairgrounds for the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day. There will be a home swim meet at the new pool and the evening closes at the fairgrounds with a square dance and the bull riding event and dance.
These events mark a busy day, not to mention the hospital foundation’s Slice Fore Life golf benefit at Enders also set for Saturday.
With such an abundance of activity all in one day, there should be something for everyone Saturday.
And with such a number of activities, it means there will be lots of people coming to Imperial from near and far.
This is our opportunity to put our best foot forward and show off our community and friendly atmosphere.
So ask yourself—does my lawn need mown? Are there some things that need picked up or cleared on my property? Are there weeds in the sidewalk cracks in front of my business? Is the sidewalk clean?
These are the little things that can make big impressions on visitors to our community.
That, along with some good ol’ friendly hospitality, shows people we appreciate that they’re spending time in our community.
You never know when your actions or good deeds may come back to benefit you and/or our community.
Let’s roll out the red carpet this weekend and let people see why Imperial isn’t just another small little town on the plains of Nebraska.
As the summer events continue in Imperial, let’s keep in mind how important that initial first impression is and let this weekend set the standard for keeping our community looking in tip-top shape.
