Basketball fans can test their bracketology skills for the upcoming NCAA men’s college basketball tournament with a new reader contest in this week’s Imperial Republican.

Fans can make their game picks for the tournament which runs March 19 and runs through April 6. Participants can download their own bracket online or go to on Monday, March 16, to download a bracket or stop in at The Imperial Republican for one.

Brackets must be filled out and turned in to The Imperial Republican by 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 18. They can also be mailed to the Republican, P.O. Box 727, Imperial, NE 69033 or sent by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

The contest is open to people of all ages. One entry per person. Points will be awarded for each game correctly predicted. Chamber Bucks will be awarded to winner(s) with the most correct predictions at the end of the tournament. Since the bunny bracket games will be played Tuesday, picks for those games will not be counted in the contest.
