After two road games, Imperial Crush will play their first game on the home Campbell field this Sunday when they host North Platte.
North Platte is a new addition on their schedule this year, and is new to the Nebraska Baseball Association League.
Player/Coach Matt Jablonski of Imperial said North Platte is playing its first year of ball in the wood bat league. This is Imperial’s second year in the league.
Game time Monday is set for 1 p.m. This week’s contest will also be followed by a home game on Sunday, June 21, when Imperial hosts Kimball for a 2 p.m. contest.
June 21 is also Father’s Day, and the Imperial Baseball/Softball Association plans some special offerings that day.
Imperial found it tough to get hits Sunday in Sidney, during a rainy, cool game which Sidney won, 15-0.
Dustin Weiss collected Crush’s only hit in the game with a single in the third inning.
Crush also had base runners in other innings, thanks to four walks and some Sidney errors, but couldn’t get them home to score.
Imperial batters went down on strikes only six times, and when they did get a bat on the ball, they couldn’t find the open field, either grounding or flying out.
Darrin Schultz went six innings on the mound for Imperial, collecting five strikeouts. He had no walks and gave up seven hits.
