A change in the meeting time will greet participants in this year’s Lenten Prayer gatherings in Imperial, which start today (Thursday).
Previously meeting over the noon hour, the programs will begin at 6:45 a.m. with breakfast, followed by prayer and a weekly message, concluding by 7:45 a.m.
Three churches are taking part again in this year’s Lenten series—St. Patrick Catholic Church, First Untied Methodist Church and Crossroads Wesleyan Church.
Pastors or ministers of the three congregations will have a part in all three programs March 5, 12 and 19.
Here is the schedule:
March 5—At St. Patrick parish hall.
March 12—At First United Methodist Church hall.
March 19—At Crossroads Wesleyan Church hall.
Fr. Bernard Lorenz, one of the participating pastors, said they are trying a different time for the programs this year to reach out to additional groups in the community.
There will be free will donations taken at each of the three programs to be given to the Chase County Ministerial Association for its ministry to indigents.
