Labor from 41 FFA members up for auction Saturday night PDF Print E-mail

Imperial’s FFA chapter will hold its annual soup and pie supper/labor auction Saturday starting at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Cost is $5 for the meal. Youths five and younger eat free.
After the supper, 41 FFA members, who each will provide eight hours of labor, will be up for auction.
The labor auction is the chapter’s greatest fundraiser, said Advisor Jeremy Vlasin. If it weren’t for the labor auction, students would likely have to pay part of their way to the state convention and to the Washington Leadership Conference, he said. It also provides funds for the FFA’s summer high point trip each year.
Vlasin said he doesn’t see it as a money-raising event, but more as providing opportunities for students from the community. The auction provides a bit of entertainment, too, he added.
