Chase County Community Hospital is supporting an effort to raise awareness of the need for breast health in Nebraska.
Through the State of Nebraska and Komen Nebraska, those interested may apply for a breast cancer license plate until April 15.
The state requires 500 pre-paid applications prior to manufacturing specialty license plates. Individuals may send an application and a fee of $70 to Komen Nebraska.
Once 500 applications are collected they will be given to the Department of Motor Vehicles and production can begin.
If the minimum number of applications isn’t reached, Komen Nebraska will either destroy or send back the checks.
Application forms may be found at Additional information is also available at the site.
Deb Hrcka, assistant executive director of the Chase County Hospital Foundation, said, “We would like to endorse this project through our all-cancer walk.”
The foundation and hospital annually hold a walk to raise money to be used locally by cancer patients and their families.
