Both sides of Jack Maddux’s family homesteaded in Chase County, reaching back to 1886.
Since that time, the name Maddux has become familiar to most county residents and has also become associated with many local, state and national organizations.
As a tribute to the contributions of the Maddux family, Jack and Carol and their children have been chosen as the Chase County Fair Parade Grand Marshals for 2015.
The theme of this year’s parade is “Shinin’ on Me.”
“We were very honored” to be asked to be the marshals, Carol Maddux stated.
Family members who will be  joining Jack and Carol are son John and wife Julia and two sons of Imperial; Sandra Maddux and two children of West Linn, Ore., and Mary and Matt Smith and five children of Walnut Creek, Calif.
The parade will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, in Imperial.
