Baseball is in the air PDF Print E-mail

The past week began a busy summer of baseball and softball activity in the city of Imperial’s summer recreation program. While there are older, competitive games also underway, the area’s youngest players are also working hard on learning the basics of the game. Monday, June 1, marked the first day of the boy’s T-ball program, which continues on Mondays and Wednesday nights at Schroeder Park through the month of June. At right, Dylan Dreiling goes for the ball as he and a teammate worked on their throws. Below, head instructor Dan Lenners talks to the youngsters about proper fielding positions. The girls’ T-ball players were rained out for their first night June 2. The girls’ program meets every Tuesday and Thursday through June, also at Schroeder. (Republican photos)
