Chase County official attends weed control conference PDF Print E-mail

Randy Bartlett, Chase County Weed Superintendent, attended the Nebraska Weed Control Association (NWCA) 68th annual conference in Kearney Feb. 9-11.
The theme was “Formula for Successful Weed Management.”
Session topics included invasive management plans, waters of the U.S.,  federal issues, controlling invasive species, timing and application methods, Yellow Flag Iris research, the state’s watch list and possible new invasive weeds and more.
At the annual business meeting luncheon, Marty Craig, Dawson/Gosper County Weed Superintendent, was re-elected secretary/treasurer of the NWCA. Other NWCA officers are: President Brian Crabtree, Hamilton County Weed Supt., and Vice President Todd Boller, Fillmore County Weed Supt.
This event was the first of four opportunities in 2015 to obtain the required 20 hours of continuing education required of weed superintendents.  
The annual banquet and awards ceremony featured comedian David Graham.
